The woolshed - 2
-
“The image invites you to journey down the weathered wooden corridor where generations of farmers and shearers once worked. Notice how natural light filters through scattered windows, illuminating the rich textures of aged timber and freshly shorn wool. What appears at first glance to be simply an abandoned rural building reveals itself as a living historical document. Modern elements – a cooler, containers, a chair in the distance – hint that this space continues to serve a purpose, bridging past and present.
In photographing this wool shed, I sought to honor both the architectural simplicity of these utilitarian structures and the complex history they contain. Each weathered board and rough-hewn beam tell a story of New Zealand’s relationship with the land – stories that remain relevant even as Queenstown evolves from its farming roots.” Neville -
